The Bunker

THE BUNKER

State of the art, boutique audio

IMG_4281.JPG

Built in 1995 by Ralph Salmins as a place to record, compose, collaborate and bring talented musicians together.

A professionally designed and custom built room, 1970's analogue console, hand picked vintage microphones and outboard gear, high class converters, crystal clear monitoring - both sides of the glass, and one of the best pianos in London make The Bunker an incredible place to work.

RALPH SALMINS

Owner

Ralph’s signature groove behind the kit has established him as the drummer of choice for producers and composers worldwide.

He has played on the soundtracks to over 150 movies, working with composers such as Hans Zimmer, Alexandre Desplat & Danny Elfman.

He is a member of The Waterboys playing on their latest albums An Appointment With Mr. Yates & Modern Blues and performs internationally with the band.

Ralph composes and produces for his production music company, Made Up Music and is a committed educator, teaching at London's Royal College of Music & Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

LESTER SALMINS

Chief Engineer

Lester grew up in the studio with world class musicians and engineers passing through daily. He cut his engineering teeth early on, watching, learning and absorbing all the magic before going on to work on The Voice UK (Series 1 & 2), tour with George Ezra across the UK, Europe, Australia & the U.S.A, squeezing in a co-write on Rizzle Kicks' Roaring 20s (featuring Jamie Cullum) and a co-write/production credit on Jordan Rakei’s Cloak along the way.

On top of all this, as well as writing with other artists and composing for Made Up Music, his 2 main projects (both duos), The Odd 910 (with J.D. Wade) & 2nd Exit (with Alfa Mist) are garnering attention from some important taste-makers (BBC Introducing, MOBO Awards HQ & various Spotify playlists).

AUBREY SALMINS

Assistant Engineer

Between spending time in The Bunker and interning with Haydn Bendall (ex-Chief Engineer, Abbey Road) at Strongroom Studios, Aubrey has had plenty of exposure to the world of high-end recording.

A trained musician, he has a natural ear for what is necessary in the recording process.

Engineering credits include:

- Planet Earth One Amazing Day
- Liane Carroll
- Roy Orbison Symphonic
